Mental health mobile crisis responder will work closely with a designated mental health professional in a true crisis response co-responder model. This position will benefit both the community and police department in several ways: serving as a knowledgeable resource, fostering community relationships with stakeholders, improving continuity of care, jail diversion coordination, and addressing public safety. Additionally, the position will assist local law enforcement by providing intervention and navigation, when necessary, on mental health-related calls. Mental health calls include, but are not limited to, the following: persons experiencing psychosis related to mental illness, persons with a history of frequent mental health calls, suicide in progress calls, involuntary hospitalizations of individuals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain a professional working relationship with the local law enforcement assigned

· Be a direct liaison between the mental health community and the organization ZION Integrated Behavioral Health

· Assist with mental health related calls as requested by local law enforcement

Minimum qualifications for this position are bachelor’s degree in human services field, ability to use independent judgment, decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, human relations and team working skills.
