Harbor Point Crisis Stabilization Center

Harbor Point is a 24-hour safe place providing crisis stabilization and case management for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis but don’t meet the criteria for hospitalization. Harbor Point crisis stabilization is a key component in the statewide development of a comprehensive adult mental health system and meeting the need for core services which are needed implemented statewide. Local implementation in southwest Iowa and Page County, Iowa is led by Southwest Iowa MHDS Region.

Crisis Stabilization Residential Services

The purpose of the Harbor Point is to reduce the number of people who, during a mental health crisis, are voluntarily hospitalized or inappropriately incarcerated.

Harbor Point Crisis Stabilization Center is in place with the intent to provide a more effective approach to mental health crisis treatment and to reduce health care costs.

Individuals typically stay at Harbor Point Crisis Center less than one week. During that time, they are connected to a network of appropriate community resources to assist in their recovery.

Transitional Living Program

The purpose of the transitional living program is to provide short term housing for an individual coming out of placement or hospitalization who needs to redevelop skills to be successful in the community.

Individuals who are living with mental health or disabilities will be paired with a variety of service providers to assist them to reach their highest levels of independence.
